Diamondhands’ drops 💎
#1 BuzzClout
First things first. In partnership with @bitcloutsignal, here’s an exclusive look at today’s movers and shakers:
#2 Ubiquitous UX drops
@Maebeam and @diamondhands “saw every thing that they had made, and, behold, it was very good.” (how does one cite the Bible in AP style? Anyone got us on that?)
And on the sixth and seventh day? So far, they rested. We guess that when @Maebeam said there’d be drops every day this week, she meant the conventional work week. Since dropping the full front-end API (aka BitClout.com) on Friday night, @Maebeam and co. have ostensibly been furiously working on their next drop. We have to imagine this will be another doozy.
Will something big be dropping tonight after this edition goes live? Could be. While we wait, we’re excited for the public launch of @BuilderTF tomorrow. While not a project itself, @BuilderTF pits itself as a foremost publicly traded fund for projects and builders on BitClout:
According to @BuilderTF’s whitepaper, founders @miyazaki and @tonywu will remunerate themselves via a traditional VC / PE model of 2 & 20 (2% management fee, 20% carry). If you’re looking for projects that the “smart money” is bullish on, prowling @BuilderTF’s holdings wouldn’t be a bad place to start. Of course, if you’re looking for smart money return without putting in the leg work … that’s what an allocation into @BuilderTF is all about.
Another small but big story that’s part of @BuilderTF going public? There’s an anonymous bot that swooped up 4+ coins early in the project’s history that’s now set to make ~$20k off the launch. No one knows who the beneficiary of this windfall is; perhaps there’s some advanced algorithmic trading happening on the platform in addition to good ol’ fashioned ETFs. (thanks to @scottco for the tip on this one).
#3 Shooting it Straight: Hunt or Be Hunted
It almost goes without saying. This was another dizzying week in the BitClout developer and start-up world. Our heads were on a swivel, as projects ranging from @Clouttrack to @wBTCLT called it quits and left wallets hurting in the process (at least momentarily). It’s hard to know at any moment whether you’re the one hunting for the next moonshots or the one being hunted by scammers and fine Persian rug artisans.
Of course, as issues plague the platform, with rugpulls and scams galore, some of the finest in our BitClout, the broader @BitsTODAY community (and our clubhouse room for earlier) debated potentially game-changing solves:
BitCloutHunt: new site, who dis?
According to literally everyone, one of your best go-to resources is indubitably @BitCloutHunt. Why? Well, they do the initial due diligence on any new project for you. And they just dropped a slick new look and some killer new features. Here’s what they added:
Projects now have their own pages! Complete with recent posts, teams AND recent coin activity
Plus! A new homepage makes it easy to discover the latest/top projects and builders
While they can’t claim to be perfect and cover every new project under the sun, the folks at @BitCloutHunt make an initial best effort to interview founders to gauge authenticity and the good intentions of the people building on BitClout. Head on over to bitclouthunt.com before you ape into your next speculative investment 🦍🦍🦍.
#4 The Opening Bell: BitClout vs. everybody 🥊🥊🥊
Maybe you didn’t make our @BitsTODAY clubhouse earlier. It’s alright, we get it. That said, we really wouldn’t get it if you weren’t all 👂 for tomorrow’s @clouthour clubhouse including BitClout GOATS @JakeUdell, @Craig and … @LogalPaul?
You read that right. Coming off a week in which he announced what could be the fight (at least in terms of popular appeal) of the decade so far, @LoganPaul will be chopping it up with BitClout legends on clubhouse.
Absurd why? Paul. Mayweather. Miami. In June. As with many things, this would have seemed like some crazy joke if we’d read you the headline a year ago (or even like 2 months ago tbh).
What does this portend for BitClout? Well, while he was joking about claiming his BitClout in the above post, if @LoganPaul does choose to get active on the platform, that could be a major tailwind for BitClout especially considering the global limelight that will be on Paul in June. And while the money locked in his creator coin may well pale to the purse of his fight with Floyd, @LoganPaul isn’t one to turn down the opportunity to dump fuel onto his publicity fire.
What we know for sure is that we’re still in the first round of the “BitClout vs. everybody” rumble in the social media jungle. Our bet? Knockout in the 4th or 5th round.
#5 General Absurdity Pt. III
Come one, come all, to this here third installment this week of “General Absurdity,” one of our favorite topics surrounding BitClout to cover.
Earlier this week, we saw the advent of new functionality to transfer creator coins. We quickly recognized intuitive potential use cases, some positive, and some negative.
We did not, of course, foresee the rate at which this new functionality would mean the rampant rise of venereal disease on the platform. You read that right, in what was definitely a top 5 absurdity of the week, the new ‘transfer’ feature led many clouters to trade X and Y back and forth.
Some of BitClout’s finest showed a bit more moral resolve, though we can’t confirm or deny how they ultimately handled their infections.
Don’t fear. It looks like @penicillin is here. Or coming, at least.
Happy as duck
Anywho, we’ll shift gears to something more wholesome. In perhaps a bit more predictable fashion, the transfer feature has also led to some impressive feats of growth hacking, with accounts like @HappyDuck rocketing their coin prices and follower counts via a combination of engagement, creator coin transfers, and hugs. Cuz who doesn’t need a 🦆 hug?
Forever undervalued
Last but CERTAINLY not least, we’d like to congratulate @designsta on reaching an absurd market cap of a cool $1MM. Well deserved and godspeed on the way to the moon, sisters ✌️
We’re stoked to see these two female creators cruising on the way to the moon, and we’re excited to spend next week highlighting some other outstanding female creators for you.
Thanks for joining for big issue #020 everyone. It’s been great riding with you all for 20 full editions. We’re excited for the next 80 and 800 thereafter.
For now, it’s time for us here at @BitsTODAY to rest our eyes and our carpal tunnel a wee bit. Don’t let all hell break loose in our overnight absence (or do, we’re never loath to write about a bit of chaos).
Love,
@BitsTODAY
