#1 BuzzClout
First things first. In partnership with @bitcloutsignal, here’s an exclusive look at today’s movers and shakers:
#2 Ubiquitous UX Drops: You can now buy BitClout with a credit card.
🚨🚨🚨 FRESH UX DROP ALERT
The absolute maniacs known as @diamondhands and team just shipped Google log in, and Bitclout purchasing with a credit card. They don’t take long weekends off. They don’t sleep. They just ship. (Editors note: this a huge deal, and they just released. we will cover these more in depth in tomorrows issue)
This is just coming online, but as we wrote a few days back, a more seamless login for non-crypto-natives via Google should help with broad-based user adoption. That said, it does seem a bit incongruous to some of the Bitclout ethos, i.e. decentralization, decoupling your data from tech giants, etc. In short, we’ll have to do some deeper digging on how this actually works and interacts with your seed phase. Paging @tijn, @paulburke… u up?
Even though it feels like we haven’t covered it in weeks, it bears remembering that public mining instructions went live just on Monday. And it didn’t take long for competition to pop up in mining towns across the gold-rush-gripped wild western frontier:
Developed by @lobovkin, (the developer of @cloutgate, as notes @PaulBurke) @BitPool offers $bitclout miners with the right hardware and systems to mine $bitclout in a new pool, as opposed to the OG @cloutreactor pool. You can read all the instructions here. Don’t bother ape-ing into the coin rn though: a) if the FR weren’t 100%, you’d probably be late b) the FR is 100% “forever” according to the page’s bio. Grab a pickaxe or a new graphics card — that’s the best way to get involved.
The fee for @BitPool is also lower than @cloutreactor’s at 5% vs 10%, although the @CloutReactor fees are reinvested in the creator coin account. @CloutReactor has an undeniable first mover advantage here, but it does look like @BitPool offered some efficiency advantages to early miners too — @PaulBurke (or anyone else for that matter) any update on whether that’s still the case?
Need to bone up on more $bitclout mining reading? Our original in-depth post on the day mining went live should prove useful (read it here) 🙏.
#3 Milly Makes it Drizzle: The $169 challenge
Make no mistake, when we say @MillyTamati makes it drizzle, we’re not diminishing her impact. What we’re referring to instead is the size of the transactions she knows can be impactful, and the creator coin prices of those she’d like to see more money flow into on Bitclout.
Earlier this week, @MillyTamati made a sharp observation.
“Yesterday $16,910 was invested into Justin Bieber. Imagine if we instead invested that into 100 creators. With an average Founders Reward of 10%, that’s $16 that will end up in 100 creators wallets. I’m willing to bet a monumental amount of money that will end up being reinvested into other creators, making the system a perpetual loop of active people investing in active people. This is what a sustainable platform looks like.”
We love this idea, especially because it’s grounded in an economic principle known as the money multiplier effect, a rather crude simplification fhiwhc is that given the right scenario, a one-dollar (or in this case $bitclout) increase in a monetary base can cause the money supply to increase by more than one $bitcllout.
Did we lose you? Milly lays it out more simply when she notes that investing in active creators has a cascading effect, because the money they receive from their FR is likely to be invested, whereas any FRs in an inactive account are sitting idle.
Clearly the payoff of the plan made sense to @JakeUdell, who’s taking the charge and committed to invest $169.10 into 100 creators next week, provided we all help identify the 100 deserving creators?
You heard the man, let’s get to suggesting! Odds are if there isn’t already a centralized repository where we can crowdsource suggestions… someone should make that. Our nomination for investment is @ksenia_tree.
LFG 🚀🚀🚀
#4 Sunday Haikus: Art in well < 280 characters
Coffee is done, dear.
Food is not on the menu.
But I am — kiss me.
Breakfast for 2 By @aomi
A little while ago, we ran a haiku competition with @cloutexhibition and @PoetryByUnicorn. The winner would get a feature in @BitsTODAY. While the above haiku by @aomi took home first prize, we had so many great entries we had to feature a few more. Before we get to the rest of these wonderful haikus, here are a few words from one of our contest hosts:
Dear readers and participants,
Wow, looking over the responses and interactions the haiku competition received was incredible. The sheer volume of creativity being shown is definitely something the entirety of BitClout should be proud of… The responses received spanned such a massive diversity of themes: satire, humor, solemnity, abstract, symbolism, and many more. To see members break through to the community with their words, being able to portray even the simplest of things in beautiful light, fills me with hope and promise that we hold in our hands a treasure… In this leg, I would like to extend a message of gratitude and gratefulness for all participants, to everyone that voiced and drew their thoughts using concise words, and a particular message of support to all those that took their first step into the land of prose. I am overwhelmed with the positivity this competition has been received with, and the sentiment that I could, too, draw from everyone’s work. Here’s to voicing ourselves, and here’s to the many more opportunities to come. One can only dream of curating such an experience, so thank you for making all this possible.
With love,
@PoetryByUnicorn
Thank you to everyone who submitted a haiku and without further ado, here are a couple more entries:
