038. BitClout in Miami
Hola amigxs,
Who’s en route to Miami? Already here? @ASG is representing @BitsTODAY on the ground already, @dripcult is in the air as we speak, and @nvo is landing tomorrow (he had to write this edition, after all). We couldn’t be more excited to meet our readers, investors, as well as each other over the coming days. Of course, for those of you not able to join us, we’re going to do our utmost to regale you with all the hot gos from the week’s festivities, in addition to you know… anything substantial and actually noteworthy that happens.
Strap in, this is going to be a week to remember 🌴☀️🍹
Someone grab me a mf drink with a little umbrella in it PRONTO

Diamondhands’ drops 💎
#1 Ubiquitous UX Drops:
To start this UX drops section, let’s open some rapid-fire updates from across the clout-iverse. From there we’ll go deep on what the core Bitclout team has brewing as usual:
@cloutviz released a very handy deep-dive outlining how to mine $CLOUT on Windows. You’ll need the right system requirements to be met and to have requisite NVIDIA graphics drivers; if that sounds like you, then this step-by-step guide can take you to the promised land. Give it a look if you’re ready to get ⛏️⛏️⛏️
Get it right: $bitclout is now officially $CLOUT on Bitclout.com (and we reckon it will be listed as such on exchanges too, given it’s in the open-source code as $CLOUT, too
@PaulBurke’s Bitclout+ is the most used extension for Bitclout on the Chome Web Store (see more here) 👏👏👏.
@autoplay is launching an integrated way to have songs from soundcloud automatically play on your profile when visited in supporting apps (“a la Myspace”). An example of a supported app is @cloutieapp. (see more here).
@ProsperClout continues to ship and expand their on-site offerings for Bitclout analysis significantly. Their latest release includes a focus on money flows into and out of BitClout, e.g. largest BTC deposits, and ability to search based on past username, not just current username, too.
With BitClout World Intelligence (BWI), we have two goals. 1. Provide a friendly view for people and institutions that are currently not part of BitClout to learn about it and understand our ecosystem’s social and economic numbers. 2. Start a discussion around key BitClout metrics and the best approach to calculate those metrics. Some metrics (e.g., Daily Active Creator Accounts) require making educated assumptions. Several sources share these numbers; however, as a BitClout community, we lack transparency and a common definition to calculate important metrics. In BWI, we share our approach openly and would love community discussion on how to come up with common definitions and calculation methodologies. End of the day, we believe, better metrics -> better insights -> better decisions -> better outcomes -@salilsethi
@Clout_Cast opened its doors to all Bitclout members (and is making a push to get into the top 10 projects list).
Alrighty, let’s go deeper on what @diamondhands and co are hammering away on. Since blessing us with a wave of drops late on Sunday and Monday, the team has taken to teasing what they’re working on next. We’re in a pretty solid cadence of getting drops every weekend or early in the week — we’ll see if that flow continues.
For insight into what’s coming down the pike, we first turn to @PaulBurke again, who shared his perspective on what he’s seen in the open-source code:
👀 no shortage of stuff coming there 👀. Further, @maebeam has also publicly hinted that she is working on the ability to ‘lock’ creator coins, e.g. stashing it away for a specified period of time.
This would allow creators to offer investors more confidence they won’t get rugged right away. Further, this additional optionality will surely unlock (pun intended) all kinds of new creative ways for creators to reward investors or gamify their coin a la @rajlahoti. Not that he needs any more ammo.
That’s not all that looks like it’s in the hopper for @maebeam however. Elsewhere, enterprising sleuth @dgsus has his ear to the ground and spotted the following as well 🕵️🕵️🕵️:
Is this the beginning of the infrastructure that will allow us to build our own DAOs on future nodes or for Bitclout in general? Ideally. For now, it should provide a more seamless way (i.e. other than spamming @maebeam and @diamondhands) for engaged creators and communities to crowd-source and recommend feature additions, tweaks, and also to get credit for their contributions (much like @charliehilton did for the updated sidebar.) Here’s to not just shitposting all the time and building as a community 💪.
#2 Investing & Engagement: @BotBets Blows Up Your Feed 🤖📈
OK … let’s be real. Has anyone absolutely blown Bitclout out of the water the way @BotBets has in the past 24 hours? LOOK at the numbers the stock bot has been doing:
The name of the game here is more or less outlined in the post. @BotBets moves size (up to $1,000 in $CLOUT) into different creators every week, and is doing it in a community-driven manner. Creators across Bitclout can ‘vote’ for the creators they think should receive investments via a number of different engagement mechanisms. This has stimulated thousands of comments and engagements across the various ‘brackets’ (based on coin price) that @BotBets outlined.
What’s next? First and foremost, we’re eager to see who wins this week’s investments, especially considering how many eyeballs have been on and ‘votes’ have been cast in the nomination and decision making proceedings.
As to how fruitful this will be in terms of investment returns, well, we’re eager to see that as well. The crowd-sourced nature of these investment decisions does act as a form of diligence and should weed out those investors in whom the community sees significant potential (or at least those creators who are already good at martialing support). It stands to reason that those could make good investments too. We’ll have to see if the hype remains after the winners have been announced and whether additional capital follows @BotBets’ $CLOUT.
#3 🐐s do #goat things: @CreatorFund under new management 💼
More on the investment front this week: There’s been a shake-up in upper management over at @CreatorFund. @MarioNawfal and team have entrusted none other than one of the verifiable #goats of community-focused investing on the platform, namely @goattrade.
@goattrade has flexed his investing muscles by launching and actively managing @goatetf. His penchant for transparency and diligence must have caught the @CreatorFund team’s attention. Handling organized investing is notoriously challenging, what with having to manage investor relations, fund organization, fund raising, and more, not to mention you know … actually making solid investments and tracking performance.
Managing the monstrous @CreatorFund will be no small feat and is a big step-up for @goattrade from managing @goatetf. We’re rooting for you though, @goattrade, and would love to see you become one of a long tenured, successful manager in a space that a) hasn’t been around long and b) lends itself to rug pulls and burn out.

That’s all for us today, folks. We’re shifting gears to focus on Miami for the next ~36 hours or so. Of course, @nvo has his pen & paper on deck to regale you with stories from the events. Who will have the best outfit? The most ridiculous stunt-entrance? Will there be a Bitclout baby in 9 months? We’re on the case.
While we’re in Miami, we’ll keep our ears close to this developing story too. Will Miami be the first municipality to fully embrace Bitclout? We’ll go work on it…
See you in South Beach 🏝,
@BitsTODAY
