047. F.N.H.H. Crisis averted.
đ,
We made it. Another week. This one was indubitably a yuuuuge one. Luckily weâve got another @bitstoday Friday Night Happy Hour for you to wind down, crack a couple cold ones with the @bitstoday boyz, and to watch the $clout price finally smash through resistance around $200 (ideally).
We canât promise weâll all have as much fun as it looks like @freemrktcptlst had at the NYC Bitclout meet-up last night, but hey, thatâs a high bar đ„. One Long Island Clout Tea coming right up.

#1 BuzzClout
First things first. In partnership with @bitcloutsignal, hereâs an exclusive look at todayâs movers and shakers:
#2 Ubiquitous UX Drops: LazyNina gets funky
Since them BIGs đŠđŠđŠs earlier this week with the exchange listing and site overhaul, itâs been relatively quiet again on the wild western front đ€ . Not much from the core Bitclout devs. Still no CIP repo đą (cc: @maebeam).
That doesnât mean theyâre not working though, including @lazynina, who is quickly becoming one of our favorites. Eagle eye @dgsus spotted some pending updates that should get many of us memers and shitposters fired up. Of course, if youâve been using @flickapp or @cloutfeed, this isnât going to knock your socks off. But if youâre stuck on Bitclout.com, you should soon have the ability to reply and comments on posts with GIFs / images, etc.
One other thing that @lazynina crushed and we didnât cover in full in our last edition? The $clout price on Bitclout.com is FINALLY more of an economic / market rate. At current, itâs the rate from Blockchain.com.
As new exchanges come online, we imagine it might migrate towards a weighted average of prices across exchanges, with weighting contingent on the volume each exchange is doing. With volume quite thin on Blockchain.com at current, prices on something like Coinbase down the line might be quite more influential, though big price differences should also be arbâd away.
Thereâs also a longer discussion we could have here about the rest of @lazyninaâs thread, and implications for how node operators can make money on slippage fees as well as how trades on Bitclout.com and other nodes will also be deflationary (with some small amount of $clout burned in these transactions). But itâs Friday, and @nvo is already two beers deep writing this. So letâs wrap this section with something fun.
Apparently Nina wants to dance this weekend! Per the post, you can now embed Spotify content in your posts. This is something we see @mixtape taking full advantage of, but thatâs not all, gifs can also be embedded via Giphy links now. We expect meme accounts to be on the rise in the next couple days as they use these new giphy links to grace our feeds with some đ„đ„đ„, but this is not investment advice, or whatever.
#3 Project in Focus: @Breadzine is cooking up something divine đ
Itâs been one of the hottest topics since BitCloutâs inception. The minute Bitclout went live many of us fell in love and found a new, happy home. Unfortunately, many other creators struggled to break through, find a niche, and showcase their creativity on BitClout. After making the initial leap to give Bitclout a shot, many artists, NFTers, and other creatives have simply given up and left again đż.
Cue @BreadZine, the first zine (pronounced zeen, like the end of magazine) on BitClout, brought to you by @sourdough and, our very own, @dripcult. This zine is on a mission to amplify the voices of emerging accounts and to foster creativity on the clout. Its differentiator may also be the best part about it (besides its founders): there are absolutely zero rules in terms of what can be submitted.
You heard that right. Memes. Short fiction. Pictures. NFTs. Spoken word poetry. And whatever else under the sun inspires you. No need to label yourself as an artist or even a creative; all submissions are welcomed and enjoyed đ€. In the words of đ„:
âIt can be intimidating for new creators on the platform to see these amazing projects from more established artists. We donât want them to feel like they have no chance of getting their voices out there or that there canât be a creative community for everyone. With bread, we are trying to host a place where everyone has a chance to create and, most importantly, have fun.â -@sourdough
Interested in being a part of @breadzine? Check out the full details here. Rumor has it the first zine is already in the works. Oh and we almost forgot ⊠@Breadzine will be paying for all contributions. Go get yourself some bread from bread and work off the tab youâre ringing up here đ”đ».
#4 Notes from @NachoAverage: Checking in on the worldâs longest zoom call
In case you havenât spotted @Matreshka jet-setting around the globe, whether at BitClout meet-ups in Miami or NYC, then take it from us, sheâs one of the warmest clouters in the clout-iverse and brings an extraordinary energy to the table. Sheâs also a sterling @NachoAverage evangelist, and contributed the following section, which includes updates from this week on the @NachoAverageCall. Letâs stay close to all the good stuff thatâs been going down on the worldâs longest zoom call, shall we? Hereâs @Matreshka:
Editorâs note, these updates are all before NYC yesterday, which @ChetBLong live streamed to the @NachoAverageCall as well.
If you donât know about the @NachoAverageCall (24/7 live zoom call), that means you either lived in the cage or just joined the platform, in which case, welcome home đ
Letâs not bury the lede here, some of the biggest news is that there will soon be a creatorsâ house dedicated to @NachoAverage coming to Fort Worth courtesy of @ClayPerryMusic.
Thatâs not the only madness that went down this week on @NachoAverage though. Nacho-Averages talked a lot about BitClout mass adoption, as well as the deflation bomb dropping (crazy how that seems like a distant memory now!).
The newlyweds @alisher and @dvoroneca hopped on the call. Couples that clout together stay together! đ°đ€”
@paulmp took us on an amazing photographic journey through Iceland and Australia where we watched đ (not the BitClout ones this time) and baby kangaroos, and saw the aurora borealis adorn the clout-iverse skies đ
@brockpierson found his calling doing imitations of @sirrhett and @clayoglesby (which were spot on).
After @ClayPerryMusic and @WendyLeigh led the way, a whole slew of Nacho-Averagers have gotten Bitclout tattoos, including @AylaCroft, @rnovoa, @markbentley and @nirvanahtx.
@Matreshka asked the community to come up with the tattoo design combining BitClout, @NachoAverage, a whale and a nesting doll. Now thatâs a challenge for all you artists out there. @NonaRivers already came through with an amazing design. If there are any artists out there who can help work the NachoAverage style into this, @Matreshka is offering up big đđđs.
@mrwolf doxxed himself and even told us about Ms. đș, who will be joining the platform soon.
And last but not least, we want to thank @reade once more for sponsoring not one, but 3 people to go to the NYC meetup. Huge respect! đ€Ą
What an amazing round-up! Feel like youâre missing out on a whole world of BitClout activity? Ready to jump into the call after this Happy Hour wraps up? You can join your global cloutizens by porting over to the @NachoAverageCall page đđđ
#5 General Absurdity: *NSFW* Bella Thorne bares all⊠12 words of her seed phrase.
Ideally, $clout will make us all fabulously wealthy (howâs that for a lede?). Thereâll no doubt be some turbulence on this đ ride to the đ, though. In recent days, weâve seen plenty of this turbulence. We reported last week on an $800k OTC scam, and earlier this week on an alarming rise in account hackings with accompanying $clout and creator coin thefts.
Many of these losses are driven by as-of-yet undetermined weaknesses in third-party Bitclout apps that must be improperly storing seed phrases. A lot of them are also driven by user error. A shocking example of which we saw with @bellathorne yesterday, who posted her seed phrase to her account, jeopardizing six figures of funds.
Whatâs been ⊠amazing and absurd to watch over the past few days is how people whose accounts have been compromised have gotten a âfree passâ so to speak. For one, absolute legend @braves2019 hacked into @bellathorneâs account after she posted her seed phrase in order to protect the funds and make sure no one else would lose them.
We reached out to @braves2019 to give us the play-by-play:
âI refreshed the feed and there at the top were 12 words in a post from Bella Thorne. My heart raced as it looked like a seed login and Iâd heard about people accidentally doing this. It dawned on me that I could log into the account and transfer the funds to my account for safe keeping. I was shaking the whole time as it was a large amount of money that needed to be transferred. I contacted @Cloutviz, @Nickfrompulse, and @Automatic from @BitcloutPulse and we were able to figure out how to transfer the funds back to the rightful owner. Not every day that you can help out Bella Thorne.â
That is some insanely absurd altruism and reflects so positively on the BitClout community. Thirty cheers for @braves2019, we hope @bellathorne rewards you handsomely.
Elsewhere in general absurdity, a lot of money that was lost in account hackings in the past week has inexplicably been returned. Perhaps @pr12m, the account returning the funds, simply wanted to make a point and warn the broader community that hacks were possible?
In any case, we donât want to dull the mood too much on the way out here, but not everyone will be as lucky as the folks whose money @pr12m is returning and @bellathorne. Protect your hard earned $clout! A little of it goes a long way in this H.H. đ»đ
See ya fools next week,
@bitsTODAY
