055 . “I want to help buidl.”
Hello BitClout familia,
Happy 🐪 day to all of you still abiding by the work week cycles that have prevailed since the Industrial Revolution. Here’s to hoping all of us who wish to do so can someday reset our clocks to a new clout standard time (CLST).
As $clout takes another dive towards double digits, we’re here to take your mind off things a bit, regaling you with dreams of NFTs, fresh up & coming creators, and of course, some good ol’ controversy, too. All aboard 🚆?

Let’s get started, shall we? We’ll kick things off with an exclusive look at today’s movers and shakers, brought to you by @bitcloutsignal:
Secondly, let’s check in on the world of community projects on BitClout, brought to you by our partners at @bithunt:
#2 Ubiquitous UX drops: NFTs … nao? ⌛
The same question we’ve been asking for weeks persists. Wen NFTs? Or, as @charliehilton likes to put it, Wenfts?
It seems the day draws nigh. The latest update from the core devs looks like they’re just about ready to let the dogs out 🐶. Thx for the tip, @dgsus 🔎!
Now the question is, are we even ready for the launch? What will the first days, even hours of NFTs on BitClout look like? A flood of new minting? A wave of new NFT artists checking out BitClout.com?
Further, even as the ability to mint an NFT goes live on the BitClout blockchain, the functionality may be very barebones at first. We’d be surprised if there was much to speak of in the way of a marketplace on the frontend. @diamondhands and co. continue to reiterate they aren’t focused on developing the frontend of BitClout. It’ll likely be up to the community to build the NFT marketplace we want.
Anyone on it? We’re ready to write about you ✍️.
Another update from the dev side? Another good one. We’re seeing more and more pull requests (PRs) from the community not only get submitted, but also get put into action. There’s been countless examples of these over the past weeks. This is the path to decentralization, and also a great way for anyone to get involved with the BitClout project and to get themselves some exposure in the process. 👏s for @petern!
#3 Up & coming creators: Pics or it didn’t happen ♾️📷
As is our fashion every 🐪🐪🐪 day, let’s show some love to the up & coming creators who bless our feeds with content beyond the hustle porn and the self-referential BitClout chatter of the global feed. Today? We want to highlight some of the awesome photographers keeping things easy on the 👀s.
A more recent addition to our BitClout family, @jay_dee has quickly attracted a large following owing to his stunning minimalist style and his breathtaking landscape photography. To boot? He represents the international BitClout community well, operating out of the Ukraine. Of course, we’re also appreciative of his having contributed our cover for edition 052 😊.
Not only does @samhorine imbue our feeds with a wide array of tantalizing shots spanning nature, cityscapes, travel and more, but he’s got some of the better whit in the BitClout game as far as a good caption is concerned. An engaged member of the community, we appreciate him equally for his well rounded presence across the platform. If you’re not already, here’s another must follow for ya.
#4 Clout controversy: Select creator coins go bye bye 👋
Since we first covered the @breedlove22 incident, in which Robert Breedlove, a Bitcoin maximalist, withdrew all funds allocated to him in his reserved profile 👎🏻, it looks like the core BitClout team has taken a more active approach in addressing the risk of rugs. The @breedlove22 incident sparked concern that other Bitcoin maxis would follow suit, rugging their accounts and dampening $clout prices in the process.
Thanks to a tip from @Salvo, we’ve since spotted more examples of folks on Twitter noting the funds in their reserved profiles have been removed:
As per the response from @BitClout on Twitter, here’s what @diamondhands’ FAQ has to offer on the dynamics at play here:
“…core developers can choose to remove reserved profiles if this is in the best interests of the community. If this happens, users can still message @bitclout to claim their handles, but they will not receive the pre-purchased coins that the core developers allocated to their names. Anyone who holds coins in this profile can still access this profile in their wallet and sell their coins.”
While we support the team’s approach in general, our questions here are:
What happens to the $clout that gets removed from these profiles? Is it burned, or reallocated elsewhere?
Has anyone in the community that was invested in a reserved account that saw it’s funds pulled tried to recoup their investment? Was your investment still made whole, or did its value decrease along the bonding curve?
What’s the diligence process look like for removing accounts? Beyond trawling Twitter, is this the type of action that could be put to a vote or suggested by the community in a repo?
We’d appreciate some help in amplifying these q’s. Do your thing, community! 💪💪💪
#5 General absurdity: @NachoAverage road trip 🚙🎶
We should have known @ClayPerryMusic would have something tremendous up his sleeves for his 💯 day anniversary on BitClout. Few creators have brought the community together on BitClout the way @ClayPerryMusic and the entire @NachoAverage ecosystem have. And while we await the launch of the @NachoAverage creator house in Fort Worth, today’s announcement will bring BitClout to the long-horn state, too 🤘. In fact, that’ll be just one of many stops:
It’s no secret that @NachoAverage rock stars like @Matreshka and @ChetBLong have been frequenting the many in-person meetups that have popped up this spring and summer, including e.g. clout conferences in Miami, NYC, and LA. Now, it looks like the entire @NachoAverage crew is ready to take the U.S. by storm, with a 12-stop tour that will be part BitClout meet-up, parts concert series, and part clout evangelism, with a stated goal of onboarding artists and newfound fans along the way.
We love the concept, not just because it sounds DOPE and because we’ll see you there, but because it’s just what clout needs, i.e. practical, real-world exhibitions of the types of projects you can fund with BitClout and ways artists can benefit from social tokens. And guerilla-marketing style, it’ll be in the wild. Less proselytizing about what needs to happen on the global feed. More doing 💪.
Looking to support the @NachoAverageTour? They’ve got a high FR set-up on the account with all proceeds supporting the project. ROI of the tour = ROI for BitClout as a whole? We hope so 📈.
Thanks for tuning in, fam! We’ll be right back at ya with our Friday night Happy Hour in a couple days. If you haven’t yet, make sure to catch up with our special ‘edish in collaboration with @Neurally and @bitcloutsignal that dropped yesterday. It’s a 💎💎💎💎💎 if we do say so ourselves…
